Experience Vila Pavlina – art, details & materials
The villa abounds in charming details, all carefully selected and placed. Every detail tells its own story. In addition, all the materials used were carefully selected, with the emphasis on the best quality. They are natural materials making the stay pleasant, healthy and comfortable, and creating a natural and human-friendly atmosphere.
Art & details
Wherever you look in the villa, you will see an abundance of crafty details and artworks – from photographs to wooden sculptures, museum pieces and decorative elements on the walls. In the apartments, hallways, on the staircase and in the garage you will find photographs of the surrounding area, natural landmarks and famous athletes.
In the hallway, you are greeted by the mythological world of the Triglav mountain range: Goldhorn is in the company of other beasts. The myth has been kept alive in Kranjska Gora, which is located not far from Prisank Mountain with face of Ajdovska deklica – Pagan Girl – outlined in the rock face. Legend has it that she was turned to stone by her peers for having betrayed a well-kept secret about the magical powers contained in Goldhorn’s horns.
In front of the villa there are three unique wooden statues, details of the eagle and deer statues made of corten steel and artworks from the past.
Luserna stone
Luserna stone is used in Italy, France and other European countries. Its extraction and use in the construction of mountain dwellings have been documented since the mid-17th century. In the villa, it was used to coat the interior stairs, as part of the external paving and in the wellness facilities. The stone evokes a feeling of firm sturdiness owing to its dark grey colour, and at the same time of preciousness thanks to its silver reflections. In the car park, the stone is combined with porphyry into an intricate, unusual pattern.
In the finishing of the façade, the railings and some of the interior walls, the Luserna stone is combined with wood to conjure up a typical atmosphere of mountain places. Thanks to its crystalline texture it radiates warmth, joy and optimism.

Wood
Larch wood was used extensively on the building, not only as the panelling in the upper parts of the facade, but also for the external roof rafters, parapets, balcony frames and courtyard railings. It was even used as decoration for roof overhangs, shingles for the ceilings of external canopies and as a decorative detail on balcony railings. The interior flooring, wall panelling, furniture and photo frames are made of oak.
A total of 98.00 m3 of wood was used in the construction of the interior and exterior of Vila Pavlina. By using wood, we reduced the CO2 emissions into the atmosphere by almost 200 tonnes.
Metal
We also used metals – for the roofing, snow guards, chimneys, finials, gutters and water collection elements. Here, too, we included the motifs and ornaments typical of the Alpine style in keeping with tradition. Every detail counts, every detail conjures up something more.

Fabrics
To make each apartment unique, we used a special combination of fabrics for curtains, decorative bed covers, sofas and armchairs, beds and cushions. All of them have been purchased from the most traditional and prestigious companies. We wanted to give the fabrics a high profile, so we also used them instead of wooden doors on the wardrobes and thus additionally enlivened the interior decoration of the rooms. All individual parts, materials and details blend into a sophisticated whole.
